In detail:
In 1987, at the age of 20, I became Swiss junior champion (1st year at the highest level). This result opened the doors to the Henniez tri-team (the benchmark triathlon team at the time), where I was able to perfect my skills as a young triathlete.
In 1993, I decided to become a professional triathlete. In 1994, I finished 8th in the world triathlon rankings. In 1995, I finished 5th in the world triathlon rankings. These convincing results and my friendship with Olivier Marceau opened the doors to the Poissy club (an emblematic club managed by the no less emblematic Philippe Gros). Thanks to coaches like Jacques Binder and Fabio Vedana, and the support of my family and friends, I was able to win some magnificent international races and finish runner-up in the 1998 European Championship.
Throughout my career, I’ll remember two key dates:
- The Sydney Olympics: the discovery of the magic of the Games, crazy training but unfortunately not the expected result (24th).
- 1997 Nice World Championships: bronze medal for my 1st participation in a long-distance race.
After a 12-year break, I returned to triathlon in 2012 to test myself in the Ironman format and introduce my children to this wonderful sport.
The years go by, the ambition is there but my greatest pleasure is to share my experience as a professional triathlete, bringing my skills from the field so that everyone is able to perform.
For me, the most important thing is the athlete’s commitment throughout the preparation leading up to the competition.
